Checking In and Out

Check-in time from 2pm, after room sanitization and ventilation (Covid19 Protocols).

Early check-in is possible according to availability. Please inform us while booking.

Please note that Breakfast is not included on the check-in day, but is available for 5$ per person.

Check-out time by 10.00am. After leaving your room please make sure the room key is given back to the reception.

Late check-out is possible according to availability, please enquire with us in advance.

After checking out and leaving your room, you can stay on the hotel premises until your scheduled departure time. We can keep your luggage at our reception

Breakfast, ordering Meals & Room Services

BREAKFAST
Our Continental Breakfast, with a local taste, is served at our Restaurant, from 8.00am to 11.00am. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

Should you require an earlier breakfast, please inform us in advance notifying the waiting staff: we will make a packed breakfast for you, to take to your room.

ORDERING MEALS
Our Restaurant is open from 8.00am to 10.00pm. Meals from our kitchen are freshly prepared, so ahead of the time orders are preferable.

Lunch is served from 12.00pm to 4.00pm either at the restaurant or at the beach bar.
Dinner is served from 7.30pm. Dinner orders are generally taken around 5.00pm by our waiting staff.

Meal treatment. Half and Full board are available, please contact the reception or ask us while making your reservation.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Let us know in advance if you have a special occasion to celebrate. We can help you make it more special!

LINENS & LAUNDRY SERVICE
We have an eco-friendly policy, bedding and towels change is every three days (unless asked otherwise). To change your towels before the changeover day, just leave them on the floor in the bathroom.

The Laundry hand wash service is available. Place the clothes you need washed in the basket in the bathroom (please no underwear) and notify reception. Please take notice that as we have no tumble dryer, your clothes will be ready depending on weather condition. Also a clothes iron is available, should you wish to make use of it, just ask at the reception.

Power Use & Green Policies

USE OF ELECTRICITY
In Zanzibar power-outages are not frequent yet not rare. Please note that when they occur our generator can not support all power outlets. In order to save power, please make sure you switch off the heater and air conditioning, especially before leaving your room for the day.

WASTE DISPOSAL
You may consider to relieve Zanzibar’s weak waste management system by taking anything that you brought from home, back home with you. E.g. shampoo containers, luggage wrapping, batteries, packages, etc. Less negative impact will be highly appreciated by the island!

On our side, we’re trying our best to reduce plastic and packages through our policies, choices and procedures.

General Info & Transfers

TRANSFERS
We can organise your pick up and transfer to the airport as well as transfer around the island. Please let us know while booking or ask our reception at least one hour in advance when you’re at the lodge.

Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available in our Lounge and Restaurant area. Check network and password at the reception.

LIBRARY
Help yourself to a book, some of them you may also swap with yours if you’d like to take one home.

ATM
ATMs are located in Zanzibar City and Airport, consider this when organising your payments.

Lodge’s Payment & Refund Policies

PAYMENTS
Prepayment of 30% on the amount due for accommodation to confirm the reservation. Refundable for cancellations made 30 days before the arrival date.

Accommodation balance is settled on your arrival.

Food & Beverages are put on a tab and are due within the day before your departure. Service and Tour fees are possibly settled within the same day.

Cash TZS, USD, EUR, other main currencies; Credit Card/Mobile via Direct Pay Online – Secure payment system (5% surcharge); Credit Cards – Visa/Mastercard/American Express (5% surcharge); Bank transfer to: Mangrove Beach Hotel Ltd – Account number @ Exim Bank Tanzania

TIPS
All tips are collected by the lodge’s owners to be shared evenly between all the staff, including those you haven’t met or seen.
