Jozani Forest Chwaka Bay National Park
A 45 min drive will lead you to the most famous rainforest on the island, where you will be guided through the Mahogany wood and Mangrove forest, fringed with Chwaka Bay seagrass.
Popular inhabitants of the forest are the Zanzibari Kirk’s Red Colobus (monkey), jumping from tree to tree in search of tender leaves, berries and fruit. You are halfway to Paje on the east coast from Jozani so it’s a good idea to head there before or after the visit.
